Colours of Ostrava

Summer in the Moravian-Silesian Region is inextricably linked to a unique festival atmosphere. During this time of year, the streets of Ostrava come alive with an international buzz, a unique energy and the joy of getting together. We are absolutely delighted to be part of this major event – Asental is proud to be one of the partners of this year’s edition of the legendary Colors of Ostrava festival.

What makes COO unique?

Colours of Ostrava has long been ranked amongst Europe’s best festivals. Its uniqueness lies in the details and a concept you won’t find anywhere else:

• Industrial genius loci: The festival takes place in the breathtaking setting of Dolní Vítkovice (DOV). Concerts by world-famous stars take place amongst former blast furnaces, coking plants and mines, creating a unique visual contrast between raw iron and a modern light show.
  
  
• The Meltingpot Discussion Forum: Colours of Ostrava is not just about music. Running alongside the festival is the international Meltingpot forum, which brings leading global scientists, philosophers, visionaries, innovators and writers to Ostrava. Visitors can thus experience a concert by a global superstar one day and a lecture by a Nobel Prize winner the very next.
  
  
• The Colours of Ostrava Accessibility Project: The festival has long been a leader in accessibility for people with disabilities. It offers special raised viewing platforms, tactile maps of the site for the blind, assistance from volunteers and even sign language interpretation for selected concerts and lectures.
